Today I want to talk about the Galai Community School which is located in Galai Town, Suakoko District in Bong County, Central Liberia. Since the foundation of the earth, the children in this part of Liberia have been completed lost and forgotten about in all aspects of life specifically in the area of education.
20 years ago the poor and struggling people in this town came together to build a school for their children to attend. See pictures of this 20 years school building project with dirt bricks. This was after they had waited for the promise of education, hope and opportunity to be fulfilled in their lives since the country was founded 140 + years later. So one of the families in the town decided to donate their house to be used as school for the children to attend. See the second set of pictures with the school children and dirt building in this post.

With the help of one their own sons Mr. Jesse Matthews, we are presently constructing a spacious 12 classrooms school building in this town for the very first time ever in their history. Mr. Jesse Matthews is an ordinary Liberian, a native of Galai, Bong County but based in Canada.
During our recent trip to Liberia in February 2016, we had the opportunity to visit the new modern school being build with concrete cement blocks and proper walls. This was indeed a very humbling experience for me and motivated me to keep doing the things that we do and stop complaining about the little things that don’t matter at all. My work has taught me never to worry or whine about my little inconveniences when I see what majority of the people in this world have to deal with just to meet the basic needs of life.
