Liberian Youth Orchestra Project

The Liberian Youth Orchestra Project will bring string music to Liberian children. There are no string music programs in Liberia. We want to change this reality. Julie McGhee will be partnering with Change Agent Network (CAN) to bring hope and a future to underserved children through a music education. The Change Agent Network (CAN) team is extremely excited to be able to offer this opportunity to their students. The LYO project will begin in one school, Alexandra A. Andrews Academy in Gbarnga, Bong County, Central Liberia. There are currently 600 students K-12 in this school. The LYO project will begin with 25-50 students grades 4-9 the first year. Julie McGhee will be teaching on the ground in Liberia as well as live-stream lessons/classes from here in the United States. The goal is to launch this program in September of 2018.
