The management of the university will ensure that qualified personnel are recruited. The university will adopt a unconventional or nontraditional methods of teaching where education is not just a classroom experience. It goes beyond the surface of accepting or indulging in others’ knowledge or being spoon-fed. Our educational platform will be based on investigation, analysis, and practicality.
The world is being highly technological and industrialized, and to cope with today’s realities amidst these sophistications requires an innovative mind. Even more besides, there is a great demand for technology and professionals committed to breaking the yoke of complacency and unproductive mentalities that have perpetuated the underdevelopment of Liberia over the decades. In view of this, CAN-U will periodically bring international experts that will help in upgrading the standard of the university, to nurture the full potentials of students attending the University, consequently, building international technical experts and professionals in Liberia.
WHO: Who is our target market or customers/clients?
CAN University direct target population will be high school graduates from Lofa, Nimba, and Bong Counties. The three counties which are located in the northern and central region of Liberia are the most populated counties in Liberia with the exception of Montserrado County. The three counties have a combined population of 1,072,370. Lofa County, where the school will be located, is the second largest county in the country with eight (8) of Liberia’s 16 tribal languages.
We are of the conviction that the innovative programs the institution intends to offer, will certainly serve as a pull factor for the influx of students from all over the country including Monrovia (the capital city of Liberia). The growing demand for professional and quality education in Liberia cannot be underestimated, and providing such opportunity in a country which educational system has been described as a mess by its first female president, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, will serve as a golden opportunity to desperate Liberian students seeking quality education, thus, serving as the only alternative school of excellence.
